About Me

I have always loved beauty. I remember walking through stores when I was little, picking up jars of face cream and feeling awed, liked I was holding a magical elixir. As I grew, I encountered so much about the beauty industry that left me feeling discouraged and sad. Like any teenage girl I was bombarded with messages about my body and my self-worth, and began to be introduced to a world where it seemed as if self-hatred was the leading motivator for “caring” for one’s appearance. I was saddened when I saw women hating themselves, and after briefly feeling tempted myself to submit my face to some of the standard procedures and experiencing the terribly low self-worth and desperation that drove that temptation, I knew that that route simply wasn’t for me. I also knew that I could not be the only person out there that felt that way. There had to be others who shared my sentiments.

I wanted a different way. I wanted a way to care for, rejuvenate, to cherish the beauty that IS and to create more health vs the standard industries which seemed more harsh and brutal. I believed that all beauty standards, at their core, truly came down to having the most radiant and balanced health possible. I believed that if health were enabled, more beauty would shine through. I believe that our bodies are incredibly adaptable, resilient, and intelligent, and that we can enjoy greater aesthetic beauty by supporting our bodies with holistic methods – gentle, powerful, and loving. To me, when the body is supported in alignment, function, energy, and capacity, people will naturally experience the appearance they desire, and will also feel just generally more balanced and at peace within themselves and their lives. I believe the mind is MUCH more powerful than we generally realize, and that we can affect our appearance dramatically by shifting our mind’s focus. Psychology is another passion of mine. I believe that the best practice would be to meld psychology and the body into one field.

My own personal journey has been a crazy one! The detours, side quests, adventures, dark nights, life-long “themes” which have helped to mature, develop, and prepare me are too many to tell. I also do psychosomatic coaching, and have found that this has deepened my appreciation of the body to a profound degree. We are amazing, us humans. Our physical design is exquisite, and our psyche is as well.

Aside from this, I love to paint, go on walks, love to sing, go country dancing with my husband and salsa dancing with my neighbors. I love my children. They are a tremendous source of inspiration and satisfaction for me. I love to watch movies with my husband and belly laugh at his outrageousness. I have a dog named Ugly, who is such a gentle, grounded, loving creature, and has faithfully presided over all of my children’s births and so many ups and down within our home.
